天国と地獄
1963年に公開された黒澤明監督の映画『天国と地獄』はエド･マクベイン原作の小説『キングの身代金』をもとに製作された。
横浜の高台に豪邸を構える製靴会社重役･権藤の息子が誘拐されるが、犯人は間違えて権藤の運転手の息子を誘拐。
権藤は使用人の息子を救うため、地位も名誉をも投げ打って身代金3000万円を支払い子供を無事取り戻す。
やがて戸倉刑事らの執念の捜査が実り犯人が逮捕されるのだが、彼は天国のような高台にある権藤の豪邸を見上げながら屈折した思いを抱えていた……。
身代金受け渡しのトリック、犯人逮捕までの刑事たちのきめ細かい捜査などサスペンスとしても上質ではあるが、高度経済成長の黎明期でもあった時代を背景に人間の内面の業にも鋭く迫った人間ドラマとしても高く評価された傑作だ。
テレビ朝日で放映された特別ドラマ『天国と地獄』は舞台を現在の北海道小樽市に変えて，脚色しなおしたものである。
フロンティア･シューズの常務･権藤(佐藤浩市)，妻･伶子(鈴木京香)，運転手･青木(平田満)，北海道警の戸倉警視(阿部寛)、田口刑事(伊武雅刀)，そして犯人･竹内銀次郎(妻夫木聡)らの熱演ぶりがすばらしかったです。
1963年版のパートカラーで話題になったバックを燃やしたときの茜色の煙を今回は別の形で再現していました。
