きいてほしいの，あたしのこと
10歳の少女オパール(アンナソフィア･ロブ)は３歳のとき母親に家出され，牧師の父親(ジェフ･ダニエルズ)と２人でフロリダの小さな町に引っ越してきた。
ある日スーパーで買い物中にお店の中を逃げ回るのら犬と出会った。臭くて汚いけれど，にかっと歯を見せて人なつこく笑う犬。オパールはたちまち心を奪われ，保健所に連れていかれそうになったその犬を自分のものだと言い張り，そのまま飼う事を心に決める!
スーパーの店名にちなんでつけた名前は『ウィン･ディキシー』。ウィン･ディキシーには，笑うこと以外に，もうひとつ特技があった。それは人の話にじっと耳をかたむけること。
だから，孤独だったオパールは心の丈をうち明けることができたし，新たに出会った人たちから思いがけない話を聞くこともできた。
そればかりではない。何年も前に家出した母のことをけっして口にしなかった父も，愛嬌者で聞き上手のウィン･ディキシーにほだされて，オパールに少しずつ母の人となりを語りはじめるのだ。
全米ベストセラーの児童小説を基に，少女がひょんなことから出会った人の話が聞ける野良犬を介して父親との絆を取り戻していく姿をハートフルに描いたファミリー･ドラマです。
オパールも可愛いし，ウィン･ディキシーの笑い顔もなかなかのものでした。雷が怖いのはわかるけど，ちょっと迷惑な犬でしたけどね。
